As there was no Unicode solution available for Bangla, Bengali people used to use several ASCII-based solutions like Bijoy, Lekhoni, Shulekha, Alpona, etc. Among them, Bijoy is the most popular one. UniJoy is an approach to help the users of Bijoy to step into the world of phonetic typing. This is a modification of the Bijoy keyboard layout which produces Unicode output. UniJoy provides the easiest path to adopt phonetic typing.
